Coindu is a leading manufacturer of components for the automotive sector, producing and supplying natural leather, fabric, and PVC upholstery for seats and interior accessories: armrests, headrests, and door panels. With an exclusive worldwide customer portfolio, many of which are positioned in the luxury and super-luxury segments, Coindu has strengthened its position in the sector by supplying innovative products of the highest quality.
In a competitive industry driven by constant technological advancement and automation, the number of systems and the production of data has increased exponentially. Gathering data to gain competitive advantage, improve efficiency and increase productivity is both possible and necessary. Coindu relied on ITGest to create a Business Intelligence and Analytics solution that would transform the processed data into valuable and relevant information for the company’s business.
The challenge
With modern systems installed in its production units, Coindu wanted to gain more detailed information about its production through more efficient data collection and processing mechanisms. Therefore, it was necessary to create data pools to facilitate data extraction, transformation, and manipulation. Information processing allows more straightforward and intuitive reading through fixed or temporary dashboards, generating intelligence and management information for Coindu. In this way, the company has increased the control and efficiency of its production and created a set of indicators according to the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) methodology.
The Solution
The solution implemented for Coindu involved the implementation of a Business Intelligence and Analytics solution developed in partnership with ITGest. This platform centralizes and transforms raw data into valuable information for management, enabling efficient production control and the generation of indicators such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), which assesses equipment effectiveness and operation effectiveness.
Using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Power BI, the project facilitated access to integrated data and interactive visualizations, allowing Coindu to improve decision-making, optimize processes, and monitor quality indicators, performance, and availability of its resources. The solution supports strategic management with functionalities including human resources data, such as absenteeism, seniority, and turnover rates, which further enrich the efficiency and productivity analysis.
